Prof Carmel Cefi
Professor Carmel Cefai delivered a compelling 2020 Wyndham on addressing student disadvantage, bringing an international perspective on a universal challenge. The NSW IER is appreciative of the world class contribution he made to the Wyndham Address. Carmal is the Director of the European Centre for Educational Resilience and Socio-Emotional Health, Head of the Department of Psychology, and Associate Professor at the University of Malta.He is joint founding honorary chair of the European Network for Social and Emotional Competence (ENSEC), founding co–editor of the International Journal of Emotional Education, and associate editor of the International Journal Emotional Behaviour Difficulties. Carmel’s research interests include educational resilience, mental health, and social, emotional and behaviour difficulties in children and young people. He coordinates various research projects including risk and resilience in
Maltese schools and leads two international projects on the promotion of mental health and resilience in schools. |
